Welcome to Hope Lutheran Church! Thanks for stopping by our website. Since you landed on this page, I’m guessing you’re a bit curious about our little country church. We’re nestled in between Cottage Grove, McFarland, and Madison, WI. We’ve been here since 1854, and we continue to serve Christ in this place.
I love this church, but I’m not going to tell you why our church is the best, or why you should come here. Instead, I want to be honest. Churches are full of people. We believe that people are both sinners and saints at the same time. Connecting with a church runs the risk of discovering that churches are full of sinners. Hope is no different.
The good news is you don’t need to be perfect to belong here. We’re all a work in progress, and I trust that God is at work in our church. Hope is full of people who care. We are a faith community where our kids feel comfortable asking questions, and they are free to be themselves. We enjoy having fun and eating together. Members of all ages have formed deep, life-giving friendships. We like to welcome the community into our space with things like hosting the local Memory Café every month. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, we invite you to view our Hope Gardens arboretum and take in the wonder of God’s creation. And if you ever happen to be in the neighborhood on a Sunday morning, we’d love to meet you.
